This new collection of paintings is inspired by time spent in Cornwall, from the movement of the sea to the detail of coastal plants. Watching the waves shift from calm to restless has influenced the mark-making, with layered textures and sweeping gestures running through the work.
A visit to the Eden Project with the family also played a part, particularly the contrast between the structure and plants. That mix of control and wildness carries through the collection.
The palette reflects this sea blues, soft neutrals, and fresh greens, with moments of brightness.
